Development of performance specifications for design-build contracts (Swedish Transport Administration)

Funding: Swedish Transport Administration

Project duration: 2016-2017

Project description

The purpose of this project is to provide a scientifically and practically useful definition of performance specifications and to evaluate applied performance specifications as a basis for developing performance specifications with the associated verification methods required. The project goal is to define, monitor and evaluate performance specifications. This is fundamental for the development of well-functioning and verifiable performance specifications in design-build contracts for road projects. Well-functioning and verifiable performance specifications are necessary for the successful use of design-build contracts with the aim of increased productivity and innovation in the construction industry. The project also includes case studies of a number of completed design-build contracts for road projects.
